The Soundscape Ecology Project at Purdue and Ubimark are sponsoring a World Listening Day (July 18, 2011) recording drop event.  We invite the public, amateur sound recording specialists, acoustic ecologists, bioacousticians, etc. to submit on this site a short soundscape recording. Files can be in wav (preferred), mp3 or wma format and should be no longer than 4 minutes or 50 MB.  We will collect information on your soundwalk experiences, soundscape descriptions and (optionally) contact information.  You can use a Google gazetteer / map tool to  associate your recording with a lat,long coordinate so that we can map these soundscapes recordings.  We plan to have the site active Sunday, July 17^th through July 24^th, 2011 (for dropping recordings).
